Young gun Shreevats Goswami will lead the junior contingent in the upcoming SK Acharya Challenger Trophy that will be played in Kolkata in the first week of October. The stumper-batsman has been picked captain of the CAB White side in the four-team contest that will see Laxmi Ratan Shukla,Ranadeb Bose and Saurasish Lahiri lead the three senior sides.

The tournament,which will be played from October 1 to 8,will serve as a crucial preparatory event for the Bengal boys ahead of selection for the Ranji Trophy. CAB Red,led by offie Lahiri,will take on Goswamis young turks CAB White in the tournament opener on October 1-2 at the Eden Gardens. The matches will be played at Eden and CABs JU Campus Ground at Salt Lake.

Meanwhile,the CAB is yet to get any confirmation or intimation from IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders regarding KKRs week-long camp that is slated for the first week of October in Gurgaon. With the dates of the KKR camp and Bengals Challenger meet clashing,the CAB administration is miffed with the IPL franchise,and is in no mood to grant permission to the Bengal players to skip the Challengers and attend the KKR camp.
