Security at all vital installations,including Metro railway,Writers’ Buildings,Howrah and Sealdah stations have been beefed up.

“After hearing news of the blast,our chief security commissioner Veerandra Kumar went to the control room at Metro Bhavan and gave necessary instructions to all the station managers. He then visited all the railway stations and took stock of the situation. Checking and frisking of passengers has been intensified and sniffer dogs have been pressed into service,” Pratyush Ghosh,spokesperson for Metro Railway,told The Indian Express.

Members of the Bar Association of the Calcutta High today met Chief Justice Jaynarayan Patel and expressed concern about the security of the court. Bhaskar Prasad Baishya,general secretary of the association,said that high court officials would this discuss with Kolkata Police. The meeting will be attended by representatives of the aAssociation.
