When contacted Belpahari Block Divisional Officer Bhaskar Pal confirmed that Pabitra Das is working under the NREGA.
Das said after Sanjays death, officials from the Belpahari block had visited their residence at Silda and had assured them that they would get the compensation. As Sanjay was the only earning member of the family,Pabitra has been going through a lot of difficulty,he added.
West Midnapore District Magistrate N S Nigam, meanwhile, handed over a cheque for Rs10 lakh to the family of Prasad Banerjee on Monday.
