Noise pollution by trams? HC seeks report from govt

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday asked the state government to prepare a report on the noise pollution caused by electric trams and submit it within 15 days. Last week,environmentalist Subash Dutta moved a PIL on the issue of pollution caused by auto emission. Division Bench of Chief Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Joymalya Bagchi after going through a report of West Bengal Pollution Control Board pointed out that trams produced noise pollution and asked the state and WBPCB to prepare a report on it.
