The Calcutta High Court Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Tapan Dey,an accused in the Netai killing case.
Opposing the bail plea,CBI counsel advocate Asraf Ali pleaded that Tapan Dey was the key person behind setting up of the camps of hired goons at Rathin Dandpats residence in Netai village of the West Midnapore district. The armed members inside the camp had opened fire on the innocent villagers on January 7,2011,killing nine people and injuring over thirty.
The CBI has filed its chargesheet against the 20 accused,including Dey,Ali said,adding 12 have already been arrested and are now in jail. The hearing for framing of charges on the killing is fixed on July 15.
