Mamata to reshuffle cabinet

Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, on Monday said she will have a “minor” reshuffle of her cabinet soon. The reshuffle is likely to take place on July 2, it was learnt. After the Lok Sabha polls, Mamata Banerjee had initiated disciplinary actions against as many as three ministers for their alleged anti-party activities that helped rivals win seats.

Maloy Ghatak – the minister for Agriculture was one who was believed to have worked against the interests of the party’s Lok Sabha candidate, Dola Sen who eventually lost to Babul Supriyo of BJP.

Similarly according to Subrata Saha in Murshidabad and Sabitri Mitra in Malda, who were robbed of their portfolios, some TMC ministers were allegedly involved in helping the rival camp. They were rendered as “ministers without portfolios.”
