* 8 arrested; Trinamool chief visits deceaseds family in Jamuria Protesting against the mowing down of Trinamool Congress leader Kabir Quazi in presence of police yesterday in Jamuria in Burdwan,Mamata Banerjee today held a protest rally in the town and visited the deceaseds family. Meanwhile,police today arrested eight persons for the murder of Kabir,chief of Trinamool minority cell in Asansol. Humayun Kabir,SP,Burdwan said,Dinabandhu Barui,the prime accused in the case,is absconding. We have arrested eight persons and seized five arms and 120 rounds of ammunition in the raids in Jamuria. The vehicle used by the attackers to kill Kabir has also been recovered. Significantly,Asit Mondal,assistant sub inspector of Jamuria police station,has been suspended for dereliction of duty,said a senior police official. The crime had taken place in front of the police official. Banerjee today undertook a padyatra from Jamuria to Baguli,the spot where the incident took place yesterday. And later,she led the protest rally to Hijalgara,the native place of Kabir. Banerjee,in the public meeting today,said,The CPM is so scared that now they have started attacking our candidates everywhere. The law and order is completely gone out of hands in our state. According to sources in Trinamool,Kabirs son will be given a job in the railways. However,at present he will be working as Trinamool worker in the area. Significantly,Rachpal Singh,a Trinamool candidate from Tarakeshwar in Hooghly,was also attacked by CPM cadres a couple of days ago when he was campaigning in Piarsara village. Several other Trinamool cadres were also injured when CPM cadres pelted stones at them.
