Madan Mitra flays Kamduni protesters’ visit to Delhi

The visit of Kamduni villagers to Delhi to meet the President with a plea for speedy justice in the rape and muder case of a college gir was criticised today by a state minister who said no such thing happened when a teenage girl Tapasi Malik was allegedly raped by CPM leaders in Singur.

Drawing an analogy between the two rapes, transport minister Madan Mitra said,“In democracy everybody has the right to protest and visit the President. But when a small girl Tapasi Malik was allegedly raped by two CPM leaders, there was no candle light vigil or visit to the President.”

Addressing a rally here,Mitra pointed out that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had fought for justice in the Tapasi Malik murder case and in the Kamduni case too,a chargesheet was submitted within 22 days.
