Left Front appeals for calm but with ‘pre-plan’ twist

Emerging from the Left Front meeting scheduled to discuss the Aila disaster and the state government’s role for reconstruction works in the Sunderbans,Bose said violence has become a day-to-day affair in the state. Such violence,including clashes between the student groups,should be stopped immediately,he said. “We all are liable to provide a peaceful atmosphere to the people of the state. It is very unfortunate if it (indulging in violence) is a political decision,” said Bose.

Meanwhile,many senior CPM leaders are apprehending large-scale violence across the state. Party sources said that a section of the party workers have shifted their allegiance to rival Trinamool camp.
