One of the two constables killed at Udhampur belonged to Dhupguri area of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal.

Sources said that Roy was 37 years old and was with the second battalion of BSF.
“I had sent my officials and found out that the family of Roy, comprising his mother, wife and two kids have been informed by one of his colleagues that Roy was no more. He had lost his father long back. Now the entire family is in mourning,” said an officer of the district.
Both Superintendent of Police Akash Megharia as well as District Magistrate Pritha Sarkar said that they had heard of the incident.
“I heard it but there has been no official confirmation so far,” Megharia said.
