Govt appoints new chairmen of state bodies

The Mamata Banerjee government on Saturday made changes in the posts of chairmen in some of the state undertakings,replacing the top brass appointed during the previous Left Front regime in those bodies.

Secretariat sources said at Writers’ Buildings that Rabindranath Ghosh (Trinamool MLA) had been appointed chairman of the North Bengal state Transport Corporation,Tamonash Ghosh (Trinamool MLA) chairman of the South Bengal state Transport Corporation,Sultan Singh (Trinamool MLA) chairman of West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation and Kalyan Bandopadhyay (Trinamool MP) chairman of Hooghly River Bridge Commission.

Besides,Tarapada Majhi,special secretary in Transport department,was appointed chairman of Calcutta state Transport Corporation,Santilal Jain,former BJP councillor who lately joined Trinamool as the chairman of Calcutta Tramways Company and D P Gopalika,IAS,Secretary of Transport department,as chairman of West Bengal Infrastructure Development Limited.
