Protest over ‘non-payment’ of central funds: Governor meets TMC delegation; Abhishek says, ‘We are in no hurry’
After the meeting, Panchayat Minister Pradeep Majumder said, “It has been two consecutive years that the state has not received money.

Even as a three-member TMC delegation met Governor CV Ananda Bose in Darjeeling on Saturday, senior party leader asserted that the dharna would continue until Bose meets TMC leaders at Raj Bhawan.
On Saturday, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee, Mahua Maitra and State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Pradip Majumder met the Governor. After the meeting, Banerjee said, “The dharna will continue in front of the Raj Bhawan until he comes back. He was informed that he can return at his convenience. We are in no hurry.”
After the meeting, Panchayat Minister Pradeep Majumder said, “It has been two consecutive years that the state has not received money. It is sad. Rural people have been given the right to work through the 100-day work scheme. He [Governor] said that he would play a positive role with regard to the state’s dues.”
Banerjee said, “Today [Saturday], the Governor met our delegation in Darjeeling in the evening. That means he had no other programme today. Then he could have come to take stock of the flood situation in the morning. If you had only one programme, you could have come to Kolkata and met us here.”
He added, “I heard that the Governor said he would come to Kolkata soon and meet us at Raj Bhavan. He also said that if there is anything political in this matter, he cannot do anything.”
