‘Banks have unanimously adopted govt’s Bhavishyat card scheme’

This will help create self-employment opportunities for around 2 lakh people

BANKS HAVE unanimously adopted the state government’s Bhavishyat Credit Card, scheme, during a meeting of the SLBC on Friday, said principal chief adviser to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Amit Mitra.

Mitra said the scheme is the brainchild of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and it can be availed from April 1. He added that Mamata Banerjee has decided to make this scheme also part of Duare Sarkar. The next Duare Sarkar Camp will start in various localities inBengal on April 1, 2023.

“Under the scheme, the state will provide subsidies in terms of margin money contribution up to 10% of project cost with a cap of Rs 25,000 and a guarantee coverage of 15%. The rest 85 percent guarantee cover will be provided by Credit Guarantee Trust. Good part is risk will be completely covered by guarantee givers,” said Mitra.

The government had earmarked Rs 350 crore for this scheme.The state government has launched this startup scheme aiming at generating self-employment in Bengal, along with a series of measures to bolster investment and employment in MSME and industry sector.

This will help create self-employment opportunities for around 2 lakh people. Mitra stated that work related to SOP and portal of this scheme has already been done.
