In response to the Supreme Courts decision on Tuesday permitting the examinees to view the answersheets under the Right to Information Act,the University Of Calcutta, one of the parties to the case, stated the university would abide by the Apex Courts order. I have not got the details of the judgment delivered today. My lawyer has informed the Supreme Court has allowed to show answerscripts to students upon fulfillment of certain conditions, said Suranjan Das,the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calcutta. He,however, said he was not aware of the conditions under which the permission could be granted. The V-C said the University of Calcutta was not the only party but various other state boards and universities were party to the case. Earlier,Calcutta High Court had ordered to show the answersripts to the students under RTI which was challenged by various boards including the CBSE,West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, University of Calcutta,Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
