Congress MP Mausam Benazir Noor,who recently got elected as the president of state Youth Congress,on Tuesday said that her outfit is trying to arrange a visit of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi to Bengal by April 13 to campaign for the partys candidates. She said the Congress leader will campaign especially for the seven Youth Congress members who got tickets to constest the Assembly elections. We will put forward youth-centric issues in our campaign and Rahulji will come here to campaign for the Youth Congress candidates. We hope to arrange his visit by April 13 or April 14,as the first phase of the polls start on April 18 and two of the Youth congress candidates will be contesting in that phase, said Noor after attended the meeting of the State Executive Committee of Youth Congress. The seven Youth Congress members in fray are Ibrahim Molla from Canning East,Soumik Hossain from Domkal,Harimohan Oraon from Mal,Pratima Rajak from Burwan,Umapado Bauri from Para and Soumitra Khan from Katulpur. Now that we have worked out an alliance with the Trinamool Congres,we hope that Mamata Banerjee will campaign for the candidates of the Youth Congress, she added. She said that disgruntled Congress leaders will no longer be a party members once they decide to contest the election as Independents. If they are fighting as Independents,they are no longer in the party. What can be said about them? she added. She,however,refused to comment on the controversy surrounding the denial of a ticket to her cousin Sahanaj Quadri from Mothabari in Malda district. Sabina Yasmin,whose candidature is believed to have been backed by Noor,was nominated for the seat.
