Abhishek sends notice to Salim over his tweet

Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee Wednesday sent a legal notice to CPI(M) state secretary Md Salim over his tweet in which the latter had levelled corruption allegations against the Diamond Harbour MP.

“My client has lately been aggrieved in respect of the allegations and defamatory remarks/tweet posted made by you (Md Salim) on a social media platform which has tarnished my client’s integrity, reputation, and mark of character in the society,” Abhishek’s lawyer, Sanjay Basu, wrote in the  notice to Salim.

“In the event, the aforesaid action as called upon in the instant letter is not taken immediately upon receipt of this notice, my client shall be constrained to initiate strong action, both civil and/or criminal against you in accordance with law without any further notice and hold you responsible for all costs and consequences arising therefrom as well,” he added.
