Vasundhara RajeThe state cabinet headed by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Tuesday approved the Aarogya Rajasthan programme and a drive to collect health information of citizens to build an online datatbase.
While the data collection drive will be held between September 15 and October 31, the new public health initiative will be launched in December and will continue till March next year. The aim is to cover 5 crore people in around 1 crore households.

The three-month programme will have health camps organised across the state, where residents would be issued health cards based on spot diagnoses. The cards would be used for further treatment and follow-up of patients.
Besides, the cabinet approved the setting up of Rajasthan Power Development Corporation to take over the ownership of the five power distribution companies (discoms) in the state.
The state owned corporation will be set up at a cost of Rs 5 crore and will subsume the holding of all five discoms. The government expects to raise Rs 500 crore in seed capital for the new company by issuing shares worth Rs 100 each.
The corporation will be headed by Principal Secretary (power) and will have chairpersons of the five discoms as directors.
It was also announced that the Monsoon Session of the state assembly would begin in the second week of September. In the seven-day Monsoon Session, legal sanction would be given to the ordinances issued by the Governor during the post budget period.
