Lauding Rajasthan’s progress in all sectors, including health and education, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said every resident should focus on making it the country’s leading state by 2030. He launched ‘Mission: 2030’ campaign in Jaipur with the aim of inviting suggestions from the public in this regard.

As part of the initiative, ideas for ‘Mission 2030’ would be crowdsourced and suggestions from one crore people in Rajasthan would be taken, the government said in a statement.

“Together we should make a plan on how to increase the per capita income by ten times in Rajasthan. Every person in Rajasthan must contribute to this campaign and share his point of view and idea to make Rajasthan a top state in India,” Gehlot said at the launch, adding that all government employees have been asked to compulsorily share their ideas and suggestions in this regard.

Over 25,000 youth from across the state were connected with the Chief Minister through video conference, while about 1,000 subject-experts were present at the venue during the launch.

As part of the initiative, the Rajasthan government will conduct a face-to-face survey with lakhs of people under Rajasthan Mission: 2030 through Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitras and Mahatma Gandhi Seva Preraks. The government has also constituted a special team that will reach out to people to source their views and ideas through telephonic surveys and Interactive Voice Response (IVR).

The government is also organising essay competitions in all schools and colleges across the state under ‘Developed Rajasthan: Mission 2030’, to enable children and youngsters to share their expectations, ideas and suggestions in this regard with the government.

On the occasion, Gehlot also launched a website mission2030.rajasthan.gov.in through which people can share their expectations and suggestions in the form of videos, creative articles, etc.

Speaking on his governance, Gehlot said that Rajasthan government’s schemes are being replicated by other states. “People in other Indian states are asking as to why can’t the poor get insurance of Rs 25 lakhs? Why can’t the price of a gas cylinder be reduced to Rs 500 like Rajasthan? Our state has achieved an unprecedented ranking of number two in the country in terms of economic growth rate,” Gehlot said, adding that there is no dearth of money in the coffers of the Rajasthan government.

“Despite Covid pandemic, we have increased the pace of development in Rajasthan by 4 times in the last 4.5 years. We have developed Rajasthan in every way and reduced inflation. It is my dream that Rajasthan competes with the developed countries of the world and foreigners should come here in search of jobs and business opportunities,” he said.

The CM has also constituted the Chief Minister Rajasthan Economic Reforms Advisory Council, which will hold extensive consultations with all the subject experts and concerned stakeholders to compile their suggestions and submit a detailed report on Rajasthan Mission: 2030 to the government before September 30.

Chief Minister’s vision for ‘Mission-2030’ blurred, says BJP

Meanwhile, taking a jibe at the Rajasthan government’s ‘Mission-2030’, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said the vision of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is ‘blurred’.

People are suffering from bad law and order and are ready to give a mandate to BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections, he claimed.

Trivedi was in Jaipur to address a workshop for the office bearers of the party’s media and social media cell.

“The CM may try to say anything but the vision he is talking about is blurred. The image of Rajasthan regarding law and order and the communal atmosphere was never the same as it is today,” he told reporters.

Trivedi also attacked the Congress government over law and order and said, “This is the government which allowed banned organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) to take out a rally, slogans were raised all over the country and an incident took place in Udaipur,” he said.

PFI had taken out a rally in Kota in February last year over the Hijab row while a tailor was brutally murdered in Udaipur in June last year.

Trivedi said the people are suffering and will give a mandate to the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections.

He also said that there is no strategy of Congress in the elections and its leaders are unable to get out of their own accusations and counter-accusations.

Trivedi said Congress is a party that has set strange examples in Rajasthan which were not seen in any other state.

He said that the party was going to make Gehlot the national president last year but he made a rebel camp.

“Along with him, PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra and Assembly speaker CP Joshi were also seen in the rebel camp,” he said.

Trivedi said Congress in its election manifesto in the 2019 Lok sabha elections had promised to repeal the sedition law but it was the Congress government that used the law against its own MLAs in Rajasthan. PTI
