(Express File)Eight people travelling to the Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj were killed when their vehicle crashed into an oncoming bus that lost control after its tyres burst on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway.
According to Jaipur police, the eight men, all aged between 25 and 50, were on their way from Bhilwara to Prayagraj. All died on the spot.
“When tyres of the state roadways bus burst, it lost control, crashed into a divider and then into the car coming from the opposite direction,” Jaipur rural SP Anand Sharma said.
The deceased were identified as Dinesh Kumar, Suresh Regar, Bablu Mewara, Kishanlal, Ravikant, Babu Regar, Narayan Lal Bairwa, and Pramod Suthar.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma offered his condolences.
“The news of the loss of life in a horrific road accident in the Mokhampura area on Jaipur-Ajmer highway is extremely sad. Directions have been given to the officers of the district administration to ensure immediate medical treatment of the injured citizens. It is our prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant a place to the departed souls in his lotus feet and speedy recovery to the injured citizens,” he posted on X.
