Counting underway for 3 MLC seats in Telangana
Elections were held for the graduate constituency of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar, the teacher constituencies of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar, and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda last week.

The counting of votes for the Telangana Legislative Council elections to two teachers and one graduate constituencies is underway Monday.
Elections were held for the graduate constituency of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar, the teacher constituencies of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar, and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda on February 27. The polls were held through ballot paper, and the counting is expected to take one or two days before the results are announced.
The Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar graduates’ constituency recorded 70.4 per cent voter turnout. The Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar teachers’ constituency registered 91.9 per cent, and the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teachers’ constituency recorded a 93.55 per cent turnout.
As many as 56 candidates are in the fray in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar graduates constituency. After Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) opted to stay away, the big contest was between the ruling Congress party and the Bharatiya Janata Party. As many as 3,55,159 graduates were eligible to cast their vote in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar graduates’ constituency,
While elections to teachers’ segments are held on a non-party basis, 15 candidates joined the fray in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar constituency, and 19 candidates are in the fray in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda seat.
The Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar teachers’ constituency and the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teachers’ constituency have 27,088 voters and 25,759 voters, respectively.
