KCR declared that Cherial in Siddipet district would be elevated to Revenue Division status if the BRS returned to power in Telangana. (File Photo) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo and Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) Monday said his government created the Dharani land registration and record portal after undertaking a survey for three to four years.
He warned that if the Congress came to power in the state, it would revert to the old system of registrations adversely affecting farmers.
Addressing a public meeting at Jangaon, KCR said: “Teach a lesson to the Congress and throw them in the Bay of Bengal. If they come to power, you will end up doing protests for your rights. I brought the Dharani portal after a survey was undertaken for three to four years. Many people were claiming rights on lands and we cleaned it up. I gave rights to farmers and their lands are safe. That will not be the case if the Congress comes to power.”
He criticised the Congress for announcing that it would pay crop investment support to tenant farmers too. “How will the Congress find out who the tenant farmers are? They keep changing. Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy says only three hours of power supply is enough for farmers while the BRS government is providing 24 hours of free power supply to the farm sector. In Karnataka, they are not even able to supply power and farmers are protesting,’’ he said.
KCR declared that Cherial in Siddipet district would be elevated to Revenue Division status if the BRS returned to power in Telangana. He also announced that a medical college, nursing college, and paramedical college would be established in the Jangaon district. He said that before the formation of the Telangana state, the Jangaon area was backward but it has changed since then.
Before the start of the public meeting, former Telangana Congress chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah who had quit the Grand Old Party last week met KCR and formally joined the BRS. Lakshmaiah urged the people to support KCR and elect the BRS to power for the third straight time.
