Those associated with BJP govern 84 pc cooperative institutes, says Minister

Speaking on the budgetary demands of the Cooperation department, senior Congress legislator C J Chavda said that the fundamental intention of cooperative sector is to keep politics away from it.

Minister of State for Cooperative (Independent Charge) Jagdish Vishwakarma, Thursday said that the BJP government in the state has done real development of the cooperative institutes in the state and as a result of which 84% of such institutes are being governed by workers associated with the ideology of BJP.

Vishwakarma was speaking in Gujarat Assembly while participating in a debate related to various budgetary demands of the cooperation department.

Vishwakarma said that it was not just enough to establish cooperative institutes and that their real development was done under BJP.

“Today, more than 84% cooperative institutes are being governed by workers associated with the ideology of BJP. Elections in the remaining 12% are to be done and once held, BJP workers will win there as well. At only 3.8% cooperative institutes are being governed by administrators,” Vishwakarma said.
