Aspirants to Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College who wish to study abroad have just received an incentive. The college has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Waikato Institute of Technology,Hamilton in New Zealand that will allow its students to study in the Kiwi university after completing four semesters.
A delegation from New Zealand comprising Dr Surya Pandey,Waikato Instt. of Technology,Hamilton and Martin King,Director,Hathways,Hamilton (New Zealand) visited Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College,Ludhiana on Tuesday. The members briefed the students about the new offer and screening tests that will be taken in order to allow students to study in New Zealand,said Dr T S Anand from GNE.
As part of the MOU, students of the college belonging to the departments of Electrical and Civil Engineering will be eligible to complete their last two years study in Wintech,Hamilton and receive the degree from the Waikato Institute of Technology,with international credentials. Dr MS Saini,Director of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College,Ludhiana,said that it is a great honour for the college and was sure that many students will avail the proposition.
After interacting with students,members of the delegation also met the college faculty. Some of the questions reflected the genuine concerns of the students regarding the fee structure,residential facilities in the New Zealand institute and the authorities told that they will be briefing them about all details.
Anand said: The students are excited with this offer and I am sure that a number of them will avail this offer because they need not to complete many formalities because of the direct tie up of the institute with GNE.
