Woman wrestler summoned to depose against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in sexual harassment case trial
While six wrestlers had levelled allegations against him, Bhushan was discharged in the allegations levelled by one of them.

A Delhi court on Monday summoned a woman wrestler to record her evidence in the sexual harassment case against former BJP MP and ex-Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
The woman wrestler who accused Bhushan of sexual harassment will depose against him before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vaibhav Chaurasiya on November 14.
The trial in the case began in July over a year after a chargesheet was filed against Bhushan. Charges have been framed against him under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354A (sexual harassment).
While six wrestlers had levelled allegations against him, Bhushan was discharged in the allegations levelled by one of them.
After charges were framed against him, Singh had pleaded not guilty. “There is no question. When I did not make a mistake, why would I admit to it?” he had said before the court.
The 1,500-page chargesheet against Singh, for alleged sexual harassment, assault and stalking of six women wrestlers, has statements of at least 22 witnesses from across four states, including wrestlers, a referee, a coach and a physiotherapist.
