The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show will advance India’s national and international priorities like the G-20 Summit, President Droupadi Murmu said Thursday. She inaugurated the first such show, which is being held at India Expo & Mart in Greater Noida, where more than 70,000 business to business buyers from 70 countries have registered and more than 2,000 exhibitors are participating. Be it carved brass utensils of Moradabad or the traditional wooden toys of Varanasi; cricket balls from Meerut or pottery from Azamgarh, all are displayed at the show. Khub Singh Yadav of Moradabad said the trade show may help small scale industries show their products at international level. Murmu said UP is the fastest growing state economy in India and has an important contribution in fulfilling the country's target of becoming a 5 trillion dollar economy. "More than 2000 manufacturers are displaying their products in this trade show. From established industrial houses to new entrepreneurs and representatives of various embassies are present, which will facilitate in taking the product to the global market," said the President. She further claimed that UP has made a special contribution to the economic development of the country in the last six years. "The GDP of UP has increased from Rs. 13 lakh crore in 2016-17 to 22 lakh crore," said Murmu. The President also said that a good ecosystem is being developed for MSMEs in UP. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said: “The connectivity of Uttar Pradesh has improved through new expressways, waterways and airports. In the last six years, Uttar Pradesh has moved from a BIMARU state to a prosperous state". "To give international recognition to these products, the government is running One District One Product Scheme. The result of this is that today, GI tagging of 54 products of UP has been done," he said. According to officials, businessmen from Romania and several other countries were present on day one of the show. Teodor Curia, a Romanian entrepreneur, who runs a construction company, and Rasvan Pop, a businessman, met entrepreneurs from Uttar Pradesh.
