Well-known British designers Lulu Guinness and Jeremy Hackett are looking forward to introducing Delhiites to their fashion sensibility
Shes shape-shifted the glittery rectangular clutch into a pair of sassy red lips and made non-leather a chic,red-carpet accessory. The eccentric British designer Lulu Guinness whose love for all things English is lived out in her handbag collection, raised the Saturday night fever at the launch of the third flagship Collective store from the Adity Birla group in Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj. It was easier to buy fabric by the metre and make witty shapes than doing it in leather which requires heavier machinery. That was the only way I could make the bag, says the queen of arm-candy nonchalantly, trussed in black with a yellow lip clutch in hand. Guinness has been retailing in India through the Collective stores in Bengaluru and Mumbai since April, but this is only her first visit to the country. I am doing well here and I like being in a multi-brand store along with the men, she laughed.
The 17,500 square feet store houses over 100 brands including Armani Jeans,D&G,Hugo Boss,Love Moschino,Alice + Olivia and offers personal shopping and made-to-measure services as well. Earlier,in the day,the 49-year-old Guinness chatted over tea with the glam ladies Pia Pauro,Rina Dhaka,Vidushi Mehra all fans of her lip clutches, who fawned over the collectibles pegged at Rs 40,000 upwards (including the singing handbag,an automated singing purse)
Meanwhile,Hackett has been retailing in India since 2008 in Bengaluru and Mumbai. I am happy with the outcome in India and I believe there is room for us to make a living here, smiled the renowned menswear designer known for his quintessentially British clothing, whose formals will now be available in the capital.
