‘Was in shock, feeling better now’: What CM Rekha Gupta said after the attack
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva told reporters that the accused caught hold of her hand and attempted to pull her towards him.

Hours after she was attacked during a meeting she held to address public grievances, Rekha Gupta called it a “cowardly attempt” and said her resolve to serve people had been strengthened.
Taking to X, Gupta said she was “ in shock” after the attack but was “feeling better”.
Gupta was holding a Jan Sunwai (public meeting) at her residence in North Delhi’s Civil Lines when she was allegedly attacked by a man from Gujarat, who posed as a complainant with a grievance, while talking to him. The accused, Rajesh Bhai Kimji Bhai Sakariya (41) from Gujarat’s Rajkot, was arrested.

“The attack on me during this morning’s public hearing was not just an attack on me, but a cowardly attempt on our resolve to serve Delhi and work for the welfare of the people. Naturally, I was in shock after this attack, but now I am feeling better. I request all my well-wishers not to trouble themselves by coming to meet me. I will soon be seen working among you again,” she posted on X.
“Such attacks can never break my spirit or my resolve to serve the people. Now, I will be among you with even more energy and dedication than before,” she said.
She also stated that public hearings will continue. “Public hearings and the resolution of people’s problems will continue with the same seriousness and commitment as before. Your trust and support are my greatest strength. I express my heartfelt gratitude for your immense love, blessings, and good wishes,” she said.
