Two minor boys were found hanging from a tree in Faridabad around 1 am on Monday, police said, adding that the duo died allegedly by suicide. According to police, the boys, both aged 16, were found near the Siddhadatta Ashram, deep inside a jungle. The parents of the students, one from Sector 84 and the other from Sector 31, said in a statement to police that their sons had been missing since 4 pm. The father of one of the boys, in a statement, said his son left on his scooter to meet his friend but had not returned till 9 pm. They had informed the BPTP police after knowing that the boy’s friend had also not returned home and wasn’t responding to calls. “The police searched for the location of the boys by tracing their phones and found them to be at Siddhadatta Ashram. After searching for a while in the jungle, they found both boys hanging from a tree with blue plastic ropes,” he said. The scooter was found nearby, and their mobile phones and wallets were also recovered, police said. Police said the family explained to them that the two boys were friends and used to study together in the same school. They attended different schools later and were both in class 11. Faridabad Police spokesperson Sube Singh said that the statements of both families have been recorded in the case and necessary legal action is being taken as per law. He added that the family members identified both the deceased and police have sent the bodies for post-mortem to BK Hospital. In the statement given by both the parents, they stated that the case was suicide and if any foul play was found, action be taken accordingly. Following the post-mortem, the bodies will be handed over to the families, Singh added.
