Three highway robbers arrested

With the arrest of three persons,the Special Cell of the Delhi Police claims to have busted a gang of alleged highway robbers.

With the arrest of three persons,the Special Cell of the Delhi Police claims to have busted a gang of alleged highway robbers. The police said the gang was also involved in the recent robberies at petrol pumps in Ghaziabad.

Revealing their modus operandi,the police said a member of the gang would stop the targeted truck asking for a lift,and the rest would follow in a Maruti car. At an isolated place,the assailant in the truck would rob the driver at gunpoint.

Police identified the accused as Main Pal (22),Hridesh (23) and Mahender Singh (28). They were arrested from Ganga Vihar Bridge in Gokulpuri on Friday evening .

“The three confessed they were involved in robberies at petrol pumps Vijai Vihar and Sihani Gate. They also killed a truck driver recently in Babu Garh after he resisted the robbery attempt,” Alok Kumar,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell),said.
