Five persons have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police from Civil Lines,North Delhi, for allegedly robbing three employees of a cargo company of 394-kg silver ornaments by posing as police officers.

NEW DELHI: Five persons have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the cfrom Civil Lines,North Delhi, for allegedly robbing three employees of a cargo company of 394-kg silver ornaments by posing as police officers. Police have recovered 274 kg of silver,worth over Rs 1.6 crore,from their possession. The arrested persons were identified as Nawab Khan (40),Eid Mohammad (32),Vijay Sharma (22),Manoj Kumar (32) and Umesh Kumar Saini (29).

Police told to probe Tihar death

NEW DELHI: A Sessions Court in the Rohini Court Complex has directed Delhi Police to investigate the unnatural death of a Tihar jail inmate earlier this month. Shanker,who had been convicted by the same court on charges of murder,had died days before he was to be sentenced for the crime. The report showed that Shanker had died possibly due to the ingestion of a toxin or drug.
