Thampu walks out of Stephen’s meet

Principal Valson Thampu walked out of the 220th Governing Body meeting of St Stephen’s College on Wednesday after being accused of misappropriation of funds. The meeting was adjourned till November 17. The row occurred during the discussion on the appointment of a new treasurer. Thampu was also the treasurer — a position Principals before him had held,though it is not mentioned in the college constitution. The college will be without a treasurer till the next meet,as the body could not decide whether to retain or replace him. There will be no bursar either,as bursar N Raghunathan’s term got over on Wednesday.
