Strong winds, light rainfall on forecast for Delhi; mercury likely to dip over weekend
On Friday and Saturday, the maximum temperature could be around 38 degrees Celsius in Delhi and is likely to fall to 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday, according to the IMD.

With very light rainfall and strong winds expected in Delhi on Friday and over the next three days, the temperature is set to fall in the National Capital.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast points to the possibility of very light rainfall at a few places and strong winds of 20 to 30 kmph during the day on Friday. Cloudy skies, very light rainfall and strong winds are on the forecast for the weekend and Monday as well.
With this, the maximum temperature is set to fall to around 34 degrees Celsius by Monday, going by the IMD forecast. From June 6 onwards, the maximum temperature in Delhi has remained well above 35 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity has also remained high over the past few days. On Thursday, the maximum temperature settled at 37.7 degrees Celsius, with a maximum relative humidity of around 69 per cent. At 8.30 am on Friday, the relative humidity remained at around 50 per cent.
The maximum temperature is set to remain below 40 degrees over the next six days. On Friday and Saturday, the maximum temperature could be around 38 degrees Celsius, and is likely to fall to 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday, according to the IMD.
The highest maximum temperature recorded at the Safdarjung weather station so far this month is 41.8 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature, which was 27.9 degrees Celsius early on Friday, is likely to range from 26 to 29 degrees over the next six days.
An IMD bulletin issued on Friday said that the maximum temperature over northwest India is likely to fall by 3 to 5 degrees over the next four days. A western disturbance is affecting parts of the region and is likely to bring rainfall to Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next five days.
So far this month, Delhi has recorded a deficit in rainfall, having received 4.6 mm, which is around 77 per cent below the normal of 20 mm till June 16.
