One of the largest security fairs in South Asia kicked off in Greater Noida on Thursday. Organised by IFSEC India and Homeland Security India,the three-day show has exhibits from over 250 security companies.
More than 20 countries are said to be participating in the exhibition,which showcases high-end security cameras,fire safety systems and traffic management systems.
Organisers said visitors to the expo included government officials and business professionals,who were looking to secure their office projects.
Pankaj Jain,project director for the exhibition,which is expected to have more than 10,000 visitors over the three days,said,The recent spate of terror attacks across all South Asian cities underlines the need for homeland and commercial security. It is imperative that we safeguard our banks,offices,schools and colleges,hotels,hospitals,IT and BPO organisations and areas like aviation,railways and highways. The exhibition will address the security concerns of all these industries.
Exhibitors at the show,held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida,said while most of the technology shown is not in use in the country,it would go a long way in solving day-to-day problems.
Representatives of Tyco Fire and Security said: Very few private companies in the country currently avail of our services. However,with hospitals and schools now requiring mandatory fire norms,security systems for fire safety are even more relevant.
Organisers said other than the objects available both on sale and for display,the event will have several discussions on the security.
Discussions scheduled on issues like The need for standards,regulations and compliance in the India industry for effective results, and official said.
Jain said: The event offers a platform for partnerships and associations,sourcing,dealership and network tapping. For vendors,it is a launch pad to test the market for new products and receive constructive queries.
