Snatcher held; 2 cars,high-end bike seized

A 30-year-old man was arrested in Outer Delhi for his alleged involvement in a number of snatching cases,police said on Tuesday.

Rishi alias Manish was apprehended from Jaipur Golden Hospital,Sector 3,Rohini,on Monday. DCP (Outer) Chhaya Sharma said the accused had been arrested earlier on several occasions. The accused,who was released from jail in December last year,was involved in many unsolved cases,Sharma said,adding,“He used to snatch chains,purses and cellphones. The money he made was spent on impressing his girlfriends.”

Police have recovered two cars,14 mobile phones,four ladies’ purses,a Karizma motorcycle,a bed and a television set from his possession. Eight cases of vehicle theft and snatching have been solved with his arrest,police claimed.

The accused was nabbed after the arrest of a close associate,Sonu Bihari.
