Six-year-old girl raped in school

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped on the premises of a school-cum-orphanage in Daryaganj. The police said the institution is run by the Arya Samaj. They said the victim had complained to the caretaker of the orphanage on Saturday that her private parts were hurting.

“When she was taken to hospital,the doctor found she had an infection in her vaginal tract and called the police,” a police officer said. The police then questioned the girl and came to know that she had been raped. “She told us that a day before or after Raksha Bandhan she was raped by a boy,” DCP Central Jaspal Singh said.

“The victim is too young and could not understand what had happened to her. It was only when we counselled her that we came to know of the incident,” said Singh. The girl has been put under medical observation and a case of rape has been registered.
