Shashi Tharoor to be questioned again next week

The questioning will hinge on the five points that police have prepared.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor will be questioned again next week in connection with the murder of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, police sources said. The questioning will hinge on the five points that police have prepared. A notice has already been sent to Tharoor, sources said.

They said the five points include questions on the IPL controversy involving the Kochi team and Pushkar’s possible role in it. The IPL controversy broke out in early 2010 when Tharoor was Minister of State for external affairs. There were allegations that he had a role in raising Rs 70 crore, which was equivalent to 19 per cent equity in the IPL Kochi franchise, Rendezvous Sports.

The other point at the questioning will reportedly be the claim that Pushkar wanted to make a revelation for which she was planning to hold a press conference.

Tharoor will also be asked about Pushkar’s health in the last two months before her death.
