A second post-mortem examination on the body of 21-year-old woman,who came to Delhi from Manipur in July last year,was conducted on Tuesday.
The woman,who worked at a beauty parlour in the city,was found dead at her home in Malviya Nagar,South Delhi,on May 29.
A board of three doctors two from Maulana Azad Medical College and one from Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital constituted by the Delhi government conducted the second post-mortem examination.
Sources in police said the first post-mortem examination,conducted under the local police,was inconclusive. It revealed that the time of death was at least 36 hours before the autopsy was conducted.
We are awaiting the report of the second post-mortem examination. It will be submitted by the medical board and the comparison between the two reports will be done, a senior police officer said.
Police said the doctors conducting the autopsy were also handed a questionnaire,with questions on the nature of injuries and circumstances leading to her death.
The questionnaire was prepared by police and the womans family,police said.
Sources said the mobile phone of the womans friend,who visited her a day before her body was found,was switched off. It is unclear if he has switched off the phone intentionally. We are trying to trace him. We are also looking into the allegations made by her family, a senior police officer said.
