An analysis of data from the phone of arrested doctor Muzammil Ganaie has revealed that he conducted several reconnaissance visits to the Red Fort area in January, months before Monday’s blast that killed 12 people. Police suspect the visits were part of a foiled plan to target the monument on Republic Day.

- Ganaie and Dr Umar Nabi of Al-Falah University allegedly carried out the Red Fort surveys together, confirmed by CCTV and tower data.
- Police have also detained Maulvi Ishtiyaq, a preacher from Mewat, whose rented accommodation at Al-Falah University yielded large quantities of explosives.
