The Gaekwar of Baroda Saloon was built in 1886 by Parel Workshops of the Bombay Baroda & Central India Railway,for use by the Gaekwar of Baroda in the Broad Gauge sections of his kingdom.

SALOON GAEKWAR OF BARODA
The Gaekwar of Baroda Saloon was built in 1886 by Parel Workshops of the Bombay Baroda & Central India Railway,for use by the Gaekwar of Baroda in the Broad Gauge sections of his kingdom. It was later used by BB&CI,with number being ERB 20. This is a unique saloon of the six wheels (three axles),the centre axle was rigid,while the two outer axles (at each end) could swivel according to the curvature of the track and controlled by central spring system. The saloon was ornamented with gold enamel on the ceiling,which had been destroyed. A small portion of the original has been restored,and can be seen through a glass pane. The entry to the saloon is from platforms fitted with brass work. This exhibit can be seen at National Rail Museum,Chanakyapuri,New Delhi.
