Power supply restrictions on malls, offices withdrawn

The move will augment manpower availability in government hospitals, officials said.

The Delhi government on Friday withdrew the power supply restrictions imposed on malls after 10 pm, and also its orders to switch off high mast halogen street lights. It also withdrew its order to switch off air conditioners at government offices including the Delhi Secretariat, universities, colleges and other offices between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm.

“The restrictions were imposed following the damage caused to towers and lines due to the thunderstorm on May 30, and intense heatwave that followed. The Lieutenant-Governor took the decision since the power situation in Delhi has improved remarkably,” an official said.

In an another statement, the Department of Administrative Reform (AR) of the Delhi government said it has approved the creation of 444 posts of various categories in government hospitals in Delhi.  The move will augment manpower availability in government hospitals, officials said.
