Police likely to move court for warrant against AAP MLA Surinder Singh

Sources said that the MLA has been called for investigation multiple times and sent at least six notices, but barring one instance he failed to join the ongoing investigation.

The Delhi Police is likely to move court for a non-bailable warrant against AAP MLA Surinder Singh after he failed to to join the investigation, a senior police officer Tuesday said.

The police had booked him along with two others for using caste based expletives against an NDMC employee and for his complicity in beating and manhandling the same person. Apart from the appropriate sections of the the IPC, Singh has also been booked under section 3(10) of the SC/ST Act.

Sources in the police said that the MLA has been called for investigation multiple times and sent at least six notices, but barring one instance he failed to join the ongoing investigation.

“We have asked him to join (investigation) multiple times and sent many notices. We even called him today morning, but he did not come,” added the police officer.

The officer also added that Singh has also applied for a anticipatory bail in the court.
