Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal on Tuesday joined the growing list of Delhiites who have sent samples for H1N1 test. Sources said Dadwal complained of cold and cough on Sunday night and took leave on Monday and Tuesday.

He is expected to join duty on Wednesday.

A senior NICD official confirmed that Dadwal’s samples were sent to them on Tuesday morning. “We could not test them in the morning because we had to clear the backlog,” the official said. “The result will come around midnight.”

With Independence Day round the corner, officers are waiting eagerly for Dadwal to take charge of the forces at the earliest. “He could not attend the inter-state coordination meeting on Tuesday in view of the Independence Day celebrations,” a senior officer said. “Special Commissioner (Administration) Neeraj Kumar is looking after the work and attended the meeting in his absence.”

The meeting,at Delhi Police Headquarters in ITO,discussed preparations for the Independence Day.
