Over 97,000 allocations in DU’s first list for UG admissions, B.Com (Hons) is top choice

With 97,387 candidates offered programmes and college combinations in the first round of the Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS), Delhi University has released the first allocation list for undergraduate admissions 2024-25. The classes for first-year UG students are set to begin on August 29.
At 10,096 candidates, B.Com (Hons) tops the list of U-G programmes with the highest allocations.
The varsity processed 5,68,20,017 unique cutoffs and ranks for the allocations for round 1 for admissions to 71,600 sanctioned seats across 69 colleges, departments, and centers. This year, DU received 1,72,18,187 preferences and choices submitted by students seeking admission to various UG programmes across the different colleges.
In the first round, 52,838 girls and 44,549 boys have been allotted seats. The university has also allocated seats to 243 orphan students and 1,339 students under the single-girl child category, officials said.
Shortlisted candidates have until 4:59 pm on Sunday to accept their allocation. They have to submit fees by 4:59 pm on August 21, as per officials. Only those who complete the payment will be eligible for an “upgrade” in subsequent rounds.
The university has implemented a new strategy to avoid vacant seats by accepting 50% more applications this year.
