Do you dig organic food? If so,check out Delhi-based entrepreneur Ayesha Grewal’s website,www.thealtitudestore.com — a one-stop shop for artisan cheeses,culinary oils,organic jams,breakfast cereals,beeswax lip balm and hand-rolled soap balls.

Floated in July, the website offers more than 350 products from all over India. “There is a growing market for organic products, especially in Delhi,” says Grewal,36,who works with local federations in Uttarakhand and West Bengal, and procure organic produce from the farmers. For instance, pear apple jam and multicoloured rajma come from a local federation of 256 households called Kurmaya in Uttarakhand, while handmade paper for gift-wrapping is made from waste pulp obtained from companies in West Bengal.

Grewal also has a cheese creamery called Altitude Creamery at Patan Kalan,Rajasthan, where she churns out artisan cheeses. While the Neige (175 grams for Rs 250),also known as Bloomy Rind,is bitter and creamy, the goat’s cheese Chevre (100 grams for Rs 125) is infused with herbs and tangy.

She also has stylish gift baskets and Christmas hampers. The breakfast box — with organic coffee and tea,a packet of wheat porridge and a bottle of apple juice — is for Rs 775. A hamper of artisan cheese, with Neige,Chevre and cow’s milk cheeses, brown rice crackers,a packet of dried apricots and a bottle of pear apple juice,is pegged at Rs 875. You can also pick up a jar of honey that seems to be flying off the shelves at the counter at Blossom Kochhar Salon & Spa and the store at British High Commission that also stocks her cooking oils, juices and sweeteners.
