One-year-old boy crushed to death by crane in Noida, driver arrested

Avinash Singh, a resident of the society who saw the accident, said: “On Tuesday around 1 pm, Anita, her house help, and the two children were returning home when the crane rammed into them in front of the society.”

“Residents contacted senior police officers and a team rushed to the spot and took the four to a nearby hospital,” he added.

Noida Assistant Commissioner of Police, Praveen Singh, said, “During the investigation, we found that Anita had gone to the market along with the children and Pinky. The incident took place while they were returning home. Pinky is in critical condition and undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Noida,” said the ACP.

The crane driver was nabbed by locals and handed over to police. “Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family members, a case was registered against the driver and further investigation is underway,” added ACP Singh.
