2 die as Rolls Royce crashes into oil truck, both vehicles burst into flames

According to an officer, around 1 pm Tuesday, a truck with three people inside overturned after being hit by the car. The collision was so powerful that both the vehicles caught fire, the official added.

Two people died and four were injured after a Rolls Royce car collided with a truck carrying oil on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway in Nuh’s Umri, police said.

According to an officer, around 1 pm Tuesday, a truck with three people inside overturned after being hit by the car. The collision was so powerful that both the vehicles caught fire, the official added.

“The driver and the cleaner of the truck were trapped inside while a third person managed to get out in time. Three passengers in the car also managed to get out before the vehicle was fully burnt,” he added. The deceased had been working on the highway for a few years by ferrying fuels for the NHAI, police said.

The deceased have been identified as driver Rampreet from Ambedkar Nagar in UP and Kuldeep Singh from Ayodhya in the same state. The third passenger of the truck, Gautam from Nuh, suffered injuries along with the three passengers of the car. “We will take action against the driver of the Rolls Royce,” police said. An FIR under IPC sections 279, 337, and 304A has been registered at Nagina police station.

The truck was ferrying oil for gensets along the national highway, and was employed by the NHAI. The injured from the car — Divya and Tasveer from Chandigarh, and Vikash from Gurgaon — are in a hospital, police said.
