Noida school housekeeping worker arrested for sexually abusing pre-primary student

(Representational Photo)The Noida police on October 10 arrested a man working as a housekeeping staffer in a private school for allegedly sexually abusing a pre-primary girl student on the school premises the previous day.
The incident came to light when the girl’s father took her to the hospital. “Our daughter was not able to attend school because she complained of severe pain in the lower abdomen. After that, we took her to a hospital. During her check-up, the doctor alerted us about injuries on her private parts,” said the parents in the complaint filed on October 10.
Following the check-up, the girl revealed to her parents the alleged sexual abuse, leading to the arrest of the accused.
The school administration and the police started a drive to make children aware of such crimes. The principal of the private school wrote a letter addressing the parents of the students. ”We understand that situations like this may cause concern to our parent community. So, we would like to reassure you that the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. We remain committed to providing our complete support throughout the investigation until the matter is fully resolved,” the principal wrote, adding that the school and the girl’s parents have been cooperating fully with the police.
Suniti, Deputy Commissioner of Police (women safety), Noida, visited different school premises on Tuesday to make girl children aware of crimes related to women and the difference between good touch and bad touch. She also distributed several pamphlets explaining various sexual crimes and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
