Noida film city project: Firms backed by Akshay Kumar, Boney Kapoor, T-series qualify for final round

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Saturday said four companies — M/s. Bayview Projects LLP, 04 Lions Films Private Limited, M/s. Supersonic Technobuild Private Limited and M/s. Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T series) — made a presentation for the project and they have been found technically qualified for the final stage of the selection process, which is a financial bid.
The Authority said that in the presentation, special emphasis was given on points like vision, concept, timeline, highlights, etc., regarding the development of the Film City Project by the companies.
Officials said that Akshay Kumar joined the meeting virtually, while other representatives of the companies were present at the venue for their presentation.
The meeting was headed by Uttar Pradesh government’s Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC) Manoj Kumar Singh. Principal Secretary and Chairman Yamuna Authority Anil Kumar Sagar, Director Information Shishir Singh, YEIDA CEO Dr Arun Veer Singh, among others, were present in the meeting.

On behalf of Bayview Projects LLP, Boney Kapoor, who is the company’s designated partner, Ashish Bhutani (CEO Bhutani Infra), along with others, gave the presentation. While Akshay Kumar represented M/s Supersonic Technobuild Private Limited, KC Bokadia was from 04 Lions Films Private Limited and Vinay Kumar Mittal was from the T-Series side in the meeting.
The Authority said the financial bid for the Film City will be opened on January 30 in the YEIDA office.
The film city will come up in YEIDA Sector-21, near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. Under Phase-1 of the project, a total of 230 acres will be developed, which will include 75 acres (33%) of commercial and 155 acres (67 per cent) of industrial area. The Authority had issued a global e-tender on September 29 to develop the film city on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.
The first global tender for the film city was floated in November 2021. However, due to no response from the bidders, the Authority issued a second tender in October 2022. The deadline was extended to February 14, 2023, later to February 28, 2023, and then again to March 31, 2023, but no bid was received.
