Light rains failed to provide relief from hot weather as temperature in the national capital hovered close to 40 degree Celsius on Sunday. The day temperature was recorded at 39.3 deg C, one notch below the normal level. While yesterday, it had settled at 40.6 deg C. The national capital received 9.1 mm of rain in the last 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM, Sunday. No rain was received in Delhi during the day. The Meteorological department has predicted a similar weather for Monday. The minimum temperature was registered two points below the normal level at 24.2 deg C. The maximum and minimum temperatures tomorrow are expected to remain around 40 and 25 deg C
