Nithari: notice to ex-chief of CBI,7 cops

The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to former CBI director Vijay Shankar and seven police officials for allegedly interfering with administration of justice in the Nithari killings case.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to former CBI director Vijay Shankar and seven police officials on a petition seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against them for allegedly interfering with administration of justice in the Nithari killings case.

The notices were issued by a Bench headed by Justice Tarun Chatterjee while going through the petition filed by the widow of a key witness.

Sarkar’s widow Vandana has alleged in her petition that officials from CBI,UP and West Bengal police had conspired to prevent her and her advocate B P Singh Dhakray from pursuing a petition at SC seeking a proper probe into the mysterious circumstances of her husband’s death in West Bengal.
